(updated 03/14/2025 to include construction information)
Click here to see examples of how NOT to return the RV.
IMPORTANT: THE RENTER SCHEDULES THEIR APPOINTMENT TIMES WHEN THEY BOOK THE RV. OUR LATEST RETURN APPOINTMENT IS 3:00 PM. IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE, PLEASE TEXT US AND LET US KNOW, HOWEVER, IF THE RV IS NOT RETURNED BY 4:00 PM, THE RENTER WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANOTHER NIGHT. NO EXCEPTIONS.
RETURNING / CLEANING
Upon return of the RV, the fuel tank must be full and all personal items and debris need to be removed from the RV. Failure to fill the fuel tank will result in a $50 charge, plus the cost of fuel.
The RV must be returned in the same condition as it left. The interior must be clean and the exterior must be washed and be free of bugs. Here are two options for the exterior cleaning:
OPTION 1 - ON THE GO TRUCK WASH
There is a truck wash at the exit South of us on I-35. (I have been told they may not wash RVs on Sundays.)
OPTION 2 - PHILLIPS 66
There is a truck wash at the Phillips 66 across the highway from us. (I have been told that this car wash is greasy and is often out of soap.)
After you return, the cleaning of a clean unit (inside and out) takes our trained team two hours to complete. Any cleaning that takes more than the standard two hours will be charged to the renter at $50/hour (with a $100 minimum) cleaning charge exceeding the two hours.
IF RETURNING DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS:
IF THE RV HAS A SMART TV, AND YOU LOGGED YOURSELF IN, DON'T FORGET TO REMOVE YOUR INFORMATION FROM THE TV. We are not responsible if someone else uses your account (example: Netflix, Paramount+, Amazon, etc.).
- SEE ABOVE FOR CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS.
- When you return, do not park the RV under the awning, behind the building or in the way of any of the Service bays (it does not get returned to the same place you did your walk-through).
- Please pull the RV to the LEFT (South) side of the building.
- Please open all slides.
- Please open all outside compartments. (This is for us to ensure you have removed all of your items. We are not responsible for any lost, unfound or missing items.)
- Please open all inside drawers & cabinets. (This is for us to ensure you have removed all of your items. We are not responsible for any lost, unfound or missing items.)
- Please leave the refrigerator on.
- If you are returning a travel trailer, please disassemble the hitch and sway bars and put them in the underbelly compartment. Be mindful of the vinyl flooring in the compartment.
WHY DOES IT TAKE 7 to 10 BUSINESS DAYS TO GET MY REFUND BACK?
Our Rental Agent will do an initial check-in (check the odometer, generator hours, check for items, etc.). Usually within a week after the return, our Service Department does a more thorough inspection. Once Service completes their inspection, we will start processing your return.
Any damage to the RV could take up to 6 months to process.
THE RV MUST BE RETURNED IN THE SAME CONDITION AS AT DEPARTURE
If the RV is returned in satisfactory conditions, your deposit will be refunded. If you paid by credit card, the deposit will be returned to the card you supplied within 10 to 15 business days. If you paid with a check or cash, your deposit will be returned with a company check within 14 to 20 business days. If there was damage to the rental, your refund will be held longer, and could take up to 6 months.
PARKING VIOLATIONS, DRIVING VIOLATIONS & TOLL CHARGES
If any customer gets any parking violations, driving violations or toll charges, we will notify you by text and charge the card on file for the amount of the violation. (If you booked on RVShare, you will need to call us to make the payment.)
ITEMS LEFT IN THE RENTAL UNIT
If any item(s) left in the rental, you will be notified. Any items that are not picked up within 2 weeks (14 days) will be disposed of. Olathe Ford RV Center is not responsible for any lost, unfound or missing items left in the rental unit after its return.
